Vision
The Centre will have a multi-disciplinary focus in the study of gerontology. It will study the physical, psychological, social and related aspects of aging. It will also focus on research in all fields of gerontology.
Mission
- Undertake programs for welfare of senior citizens
- Organise, promote and excute programmes of study and research on ageing
- Organize and conduct seminars, workshops, symposia and study groups on major issues of population aging
- Examine government policies, programmes and legislations that have gerontological bearing and prepare reports that may be useful for policy makers and programme planners
- Publish research papers, research reports and a journal on gerontology
- Develop a library and documentation centre on gerontology in India
- Collaborate with government, centres of learning and research and other non government organizations in promoting knowledge regarding aging and programmes for the old
